TriPeaks Vegas Royale is a Solitaire card game that uses one deck of playing cards. The objective of the game is to clear the “three peaks” made up of cards beginning with the ones on the top. This is done by moving the cards from the peaks to the foundation pile below according to rank and regardless of suit.TriPeaks Vegas Royale Game Rules
When a new game begins, 18 cards are dealt faced-down on the tableau to form 3 triangle-shaped card formations of 6 cards, finishing with an additional 10 cards facing upwards as the last row. The remaining 24 cards from the 52-card deck will be used as the stock pile below, and a card is opened up to the side to serve as the foundation pile.
Cards that are faced up can be moved to the foundation pile provided they are one less or one more in rank to the current card in the foundation pile, regardless of suit. For example, a black 7 of spades can be moved to a red 8 of hearts in the foundation pile. By playing a card on the tableau, you can uncover the previously faced-down card that was underneath the card you just played. To win a game of Tripeaks Soltaire, you are required to move all cards on the tableau into the foundation pile.
The Stock Pile, which is at the bottom left side, is where you can draw new cards to be played. After drawing a new card, that card will be the one that needs to be built upon regardless of the previous cards now beneath it. Unlike in Solitaire games, your Stock Pile will not be turned back over once it is emptied, and the game is over if you still have cards on the tableau.
TriPeaks Vegas Royale Tips and Tricks to Win
- The most important step before doing anything is to check out the tableau first and confirm the cards that are faced upwards. This is to ensure you don't miss out on any obvious moves from the start and helps you plan your next moves.
- Uncover as many cards on the tableau as you can before reaching for the stockpile below. This way, you can ensure that you will have exhausted any moves available and prevent yourself from getting unnecessarily stucked later on.
- Don’t look at the colors of the cards. They are irrelevant in this variation of Solitaire, and will only serve to distract you from making the right moves.
- Use the Hint feature. This is a last resort for most players, but if you are determined to get a win, there is no shame in getting a hint from the computer.
